Cleo's Cozy Cloud Dreams

A story for: Cleo, Age 3

Created July 17, 2026

Once upon a time, in a teeny, tiny house nestled among big, green trees, lived a little girl named Cleo.

Cleo loved bedtime. It was her favorite time of day because it meant snuggling into her soft, warm bed with her fluffy, blue bunny, Floppy. Tonight, the moon peeked through her window like a friendly, round eye, and the stars twinkled like tiny diamonds sprinkled across a dark blanket.

Cleo snuggled down deep under her covers. They felt so soft, like a gentle hug all around her. She closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep, sleepy breath. "Goodnight, Floppy," she whispered, giving her bunny a little pat.

Tonight, Cleo imagined she was floating on a big, fluffy cloud. It was the softest cloud she had ever felt, like a giant marshmallow that smelled faintly of warm milk and honey. The cloud slowly, gently floated higher and higher, above the rooftops and the tall, tall trees.

From her cloud, Cleo could see the whole world getting smaller and smaller. The streetlights looked like little yellow dots, and the houses were like tiny toy blocks. She giggled softly, a little sleepy giggle, as her cloud drifted past the big, round moon. The moon smiled back at her, a sleepy, friendly smile.

Her cloud friend decided to show Cleo something very special. It drifted towards a field of glowing fireflies. They blinked on and off, on and off, like tiny, sleepy winks. Cleo watched them dance, making sparkling patterns in the air. It was so pretty, like a quiet, twinkling show just for her.

Then, the cloud floated past a tree full of sleepy owls. Their big, round eyes were almost closed, and they were hooting very softly, a soft, 'hoo-hoo' that sounded like a lullaby. Cleo felt her own eyes getting heavier and heavier, just like the sleepy owls.

The cloud then began to drift back down, slowly and gently, like a feather floating to the ground. It floated past the tall, tall trees again, and back towards Cleo's little house. The cloud settled down right above her bed, and Cleo felt herself gently, gently sinking back into her own soft, warm covers.

Floppy was still right beside her, warm and cozy. Cleo took another deep, sleepy breath. The moonlight still shone softly through her window, a gentle nightlight. The stars were still twinkling, like sleepy eyes watching over her.

Cleo snuggled one last time, feeling safe and loved. Her cloud dream had been so wonderful and soft. She closed her eyes, and a peaceful, happy sigh escaped her lips. Soon, Cleo was fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams of fluffy clouds and twinkling stars, until the sun would peek through her window again in the morning.
