A story for: Nora, Age 3
Created September 30, 2026
Once upon a time, in a cozy little burrow nestled under a big, soft oak tree, lived a tiny bunny named Nora. Nora had the softest white fur, the wiggliest pink nose, and the longest, floppiest ears. Every night, as the sun began to paint the sky with sleepy oranges and purples, Nora would get ready for her very special job.
Nora was a brave little bunny, and her job was to light the dreams for all the little animals in the forest. She had a magical lantern, not just any lantern, but a 'Dream Lantern.' It glowed with the softest, warmest light, like a hug from the moon.
Tonight, as the first twinkling stars peeked out, Nora carefully picked up her Dream Lantern. It hummed a gentle, happy tune in her paws. 'Time to make some sweet dreams,' she whispered, her little bunny nose twitching with excitement.
First, Nora hopped to the field where the little deer fawn slept. She held her lantern high, and a soft, golden glow floated into the fawn's dreams. In its sleep, the fawn smiled, dreaming of tasty green leaves and playing hide-and-seek with butterflies.
Next, Nora tiptoed to the old log where the sleepy squirrels snuggled. She shone her Dream Lantern, and a warm, silver light drifted into their dreams. The squirrels dreamed of crunchy acorns and sunny afternoons climbing tall trees.
Nora made her way through the quiet forest, her Dream Lantern casting long, dancing shadows. She lit dreams for the baby owls, who dreamed of learning to fly softly through the night. She lit dreams for the sleepy little hedgehogs, who dreamed of cozy naps under berry bushes. Every dream Nora lit was full of peace and happiness.
Finally, Nora felt a little yawn spread across her own face. Her job was almost done. She had filled the forest with good dreams. The moon was now high in the sky, a big, round nightlight for everyone.
Nora hopped back to her cozy burrow. She placed her Dream Lantern gently beside her little mossy bed. The lantern pulsed with a soft, sleepy glow, like a heartbeat. Nora snuggled down, her soft fur warm against the cool earth. She closed her eyes. The gentle light of her Dream Lantern filled her own dreams now, making them warm and bright.
Nora drifted off to sleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and tasty clover, her little nose twitching softly. All the animals in the forest, thanks to Nora and her brave Dream Lantern, slept soundly, wrapped in wonderful, happy dreams.
