A story for: Arlo, Age 3
Created August 24, 2026
Once upon a time, high above the clouds where the sky turned a deep, sleepy blue, lived a little boy named Arlo. Arlo had big, curious eyes that loved to look up at the twinkling stars each night.
Tonight, as the moon peeked from behind a soft, fluffy cloud, Arlo snuggled into his cozy bed. He held his favorite teddy bear, Captain Cuddles, close. "Captain Cuddles," Arlo whispered, "Do you think we could visit the stars tonight?"
Just then, a little shimmer appeared at his window. It wasn't a firefly; it was a tiny, sparkling star, no bigger than his thumb! The star twinkled a happy tune, inviting Arlo to come closer.
Arlo, feeling very brave and a little bit sleepy, took Captain Cuddles' paw. The little star zipped into his room and circled around them. And poof! Suddenly, Arlo wasn't in his bed anymore. He was floating gently in a big, dark, beautiful sky, surrounded by millions of sleepy stars.
"Wow!" Arlo whispered, his eyes wide with wonder. The little star, his new friend, twirled around him. It showed him big, orange planets that looked like giant, juicy oranges, and shiny, silver planets that sparkled like new spoons.
They floated past a big, friendly moon that smiled down at Arlo. The moon looked so soft and squishy, like a giant marshmallow.
"Look, Captain Cuddles," Arlo giggled, pointing to a swirl of purple and pink dust. "It's like a giant cosmic painting!"
His star friend took him on a slow, gentle tour. They saw a quiet comet with a long, sparkly tail that looked like a sparkly scarf. They waved to a sleepy astronaut who was floating past, gently snoring in his little spaceship.
As they drifted further, the stars around Arlo started to twinkle even softer, like they were whispering secrets to each other. The big, dark sky felt like a warm, comforting blanket.
Arlo yawned a big, wide yawn. His star friend twinkled softly, understanding. It gently nudged him, guiding him back towards his window, which now looked like a tiny, warm light in the distance.
Slowly, softly, Arlo floated back into his room, back into his cozy bed. Captain Cuddles was still in his arms. The little star gave one last gentle shimmer and then, with a tiny pop, it disappeared.
Arlo closed his eyes. He could still feel the gentle sway of the stars and the soft, quiet hum of space. He snuggled deeper into his covers, feeling warm and safe. He dreamed of orange planets and marshmallow moons, knowing that the stars were always there, watching over him. And with a soft, peaceful sigh, Arlo drifted off to sleep.
