A story for: Remy, Age 3
Created July 16, 2026
Once upon a time, high above the puffy white clouds, lived a very special little dragon named Remy. Remy wasn't like other dragons you might read about. He didn't breathe fire that burned hot, hot, hot. Oh no, Remy breathed gentle, shimmering stardust, and his scales glowed with the softest colors of the rainbow.
Remy loved the night. He loved how the stars twinkled like tiny diamonds, and how the big, round moon shone so brightly in the dark sky. But sometimes, the moon looked a little bit tired. Its glow would be a little dimmer, and it would yawn a great big, silent yawn across the sky.
One evening, Remy saw the moon looking extra sleepy. Its eyelids were drooping, and it was swaying just a tiny, tiny bit. Remy, with his kind heart, knew he had to help his friend, the moon, fall asleep properly.
He flew closer, his iridescent wings shimmering softly. "Hello, dear Moon," Remy whispered, his voice like the rustling of soft leaves. "You look very, very tired tonight."
The moon sighed a long, slow sigh. "Oh, Remy," it mumbled, its voice like a gentle breeze. "I've been working so hard, shining all night long. But I can't seem to drift off to sleep. My mind is still whirring with all the things I've seen today."
Remy smiled his warmest, gentlest smile. "Don't you worry, Moon. I know just what to do." He took a deep, deep breath, and instead of fire, out came a sprinkle of shimmering, golden stardust. The stardust floated around the moon like tiny, dancing fireflies, making soft, tinkling sounds.
Then, Remy began to hum. It was a low, peaceful hum, like a bumblebee buzzing around a sleepy flower. He hummed a lullaby he had made up himself, about fluffy clouds and quiet stars and dreams as sweet as honey.
The stardust twinkled, the hum floated, and slowly, slowly, the moon's glow softened even more. Its big, round eyes began to close, one at a time. The swaying stopped, and a peaceful, happy look spread across its face.
"Thank you, Remy," the moon whispered, its voice now almost a sleepy murmur. "That was the most beautiful song. I feel so warm and cozy."
Remy watched as the moon's light dimmed to a gentle, sleepy glow. He knew his friend was finally resting, dreaming sweet dreams of quiet nights and sparkling stars. Remy yawned a tiny dragon yawn himself. Helping his friend had made him feel very sleepy too.
He found a soft, fluffy cloud to curl up on, his scales glowing faintly like a distant nightlight. He closed his own eyes, listening to the soft whisper of the night, and soon, Remy, the kind little dragon, drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sleepy moons and twinkling stardust.
