Sage's Sparkle Horn Dream

A story for: Sage, Age 4

Created October 21, 2026

Once upon a time, nestled in a valley where the moonbeams kissed the softest moss, lived a tiny unicorn named Sage. Sage wasn't just any unicorn; her horn glowed with all the colors of a sunset, swirling like painted ribbons when she was happy.

Tonight, as the stars began to twinkle like tiny diamond dust, Sage was getting ready for bed. Her mama, a beautiful unicorn with a mane like spun silver, gently brushed Sage’s soft, white coat. "Time for dreams, my little star," Mama Unicorn whispered.

Sage yawned a tiny, sparkly yawn. "Mama, what kind of dreams will I have tonight?" she asked, her voice soft like a little bell.

Mama Unicorn smiled. "Tonight, my darling Sage, you will have a dream about finding your very own Dream Cloud. It’s a special cloud, made just for you, where all the sweetest sleep lives."

Sage’s eyes widened. "A Dream Cloud? How will I find it?"

"Close your eyes, sweet pea," Mama Unicorn murmured, nuzzling Sage’s forehead. "Imagine your sparkle horn is a gentle lantern, lighting your way. First, you'll float past the Whispering Willows, whose leaves hum lullabies. Can you hear them?"

Sage closed her eyes. She imagined the willows swaying, their leaves making a soft *shhh-shhh* sound, like Mama’s gentle breath.

"Next," Mama Unicorn continued, her voice like a warm blanket, "you'll drift over the Glimmering Stream. Its water sparkles with captured starlight, making little plinking sounds as it flows over smooth, round pebbles. It sounds like tiny fairy bells." Sage imagined the gentle sparkle, feeling calm and safe.

"And then, little one," Mama Unicorn said, her voice growing even softer, "you will see it. High above, past the softest, fluffiest moon-moths, will be your Dream Cloud. It will be the color of freshly fallen snow, with edges that glow a gentle lavender. When you touch it with your sparkle horn, it will feel like the softest feather, and you can snuggle right in."

Sage pictured her horn, gently touching the soft cloud. She imagined sinking into it, feeling warm and safe, like she was being held in Mama Unicorn’s loving embrace. The cloud would be so soft, so peaceful.

"And when you're tucked in your Dream Cloud," Mama Unicorn whispered, her voice barely a breath, "you’ll drift off to sleep, filled with happy thoughts and sweet dreams until morning light. Your sparkle horn will hum a sleepy tune, and all will be peaceful."

Sage snuggled deeper into her cozy bed. She could almost feel the softness of her Dream Cloud around her, hear the gentle lullabies of the willows, and see the glimmering stream. Her own little sparkle horn began to glow with a very gentle, sleepy light. Her breathing became slow and steady. Soon, Sage’s eyelids felt heavy, and she drifted off, ready to find her very own, perfect Dream Cloud.
