A story for: Finn, Age 4
Created October 27, 2026
Tonight, as the sun dipped low and painted the sky in soft oranges and purples, little Finn got ready for bed. He brushed his teeth, put on his favorite dinosaur pajamas, and snuggled under his warm, fluffy blanket. His bedroom was a very special place, full of all his favorite things.
First, Finn looked at the gentle glow from his nightlight, shaped like a friendly star. It cast soft, dancing shadows on the wall, making his room feel extra cozy and safe. He imagined the star was watching over him, twinkling just for him.
Then, Finn looked at his collection of soft animal friends lined up on his pillow. There was Barnaby Bear, with his big, sleepy eyes, and Lily Lamb, with her soft, woolly fur. Tonight, Barnaby Bear was his special cuddle buddy, tucked right next to his ear. Finn gave Barnaby a little squeeze, and Barnaby seemed to sigh a happy, pretend sigh.
Finn’s eyes drifted to the window. Outside, the moon was a big, round cookie in the sky, and the stars were like tiny diamonds sprinkled all around it. He imagined the moon was sending sleepy wishes down to his room, helping him feel calm and peaceful.
His toy box, usually full of exciting noises during the day, was now quiet and still. All the blocks, cars, and puzzles were resting, waiting for tomorrow's adventures. Finn knew they were dreaming happy dreams, just like he would soon be.
He thought about his colorful rug, which felt so soft under his feet. During the day, it was a landing strip for his airplanes and a cozy picnic spot for his teddy bears. Now, it was just a warm, soft cloud on the floor, waiting patiently for morning.
Finn took a deep breath, filling his chest with the clean, quiet air of his room. He let it out slowly, feeling all his wiggles and jiggles float away. His eyelids felt heavy, like tiny, soft curtains wanting to close.
His bedroom was a wonderful, safe place. It was full of quiet comfort and sleepy whispers. Finn snuggled deeper into his bed, feeling warm from his head to his toes. The star nightlight blinked softly, the moon shone gently, and Barnaby Bear was right there beside him.
Finn closed his eyes. He listened to the soft silence of his room, feeling peaceful and loved. His breath became slow and steady, like a gentle wave on a calm ocean. Soon, little Finn was fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams in his very own cozy bedroom.
