A story for: Leo, Age 7
Created June 29, 2026
Far, far away, beyond the twinkly stars and the sleepy moon, lived a little astronaut named Leo. Leo wasn't just any astronaut; he was a very, very sleepy astronaut. Every night, after his yummy supper and a warm bath, Leo would put on his softest, coziest space suit, ready for his bedtime adventure.
Tonight, Leo climbed into his little silver spaceship, which glowed with a gentle, starlit light. “Time for new sleepy planets!” he whispered to his teddy bear, Comet, who always joined him on his journeys. Comet snuggled close, his fuzzy head resting on Leo’s shoulder.
First, they floated past the Whispering Wind Planet. This planet was a soft, pale blue, and all around it, gentle breezes sang the sweetest lullabies. Leo closed his eyes for a moment, listening to the 'whoosh-whoosh' of the wind, feeling his eyelids grow heavy. He imagined the wind tucking in all the little clouds, just like his mommy tucked him in.
Next, they drifted towards the Sparkle Dust Planet. This planet wasn't made of rock, but of tiny, glittering dust motes that floated slowly, like snowflakes in slow motion. As Leo's spaceship passed through the Sparkle Dust, each tiny speck brushed against the window, making the softest 'pitter-patter' sound. It was like a gentle rain of starlight, soothing and quiet. Leo yawned a big, sleepy yawn.
Their journey continued to the Cloud Pillow Planet. Oh, this planet was wonderful! It was made entirely of fluffy, soft clouds, so white and plump they looked like the comfiest pillows imaginable. Leo could almost feel the softness beneath his cheek. He watched as a tiny cloud animal, shaped like a friendly sheep, slowly bounced across the surface. Everything on the Cloud Pillow Planet moved with a slow, sleepy rhythm. Leo leaned back in his pilot's seat, his head resting on Comet.
Finally, they arrived at the Moonbeam Meadow. This wasn't a planet, but a special place where all the gentle moonbeams gathered to rest. The Moonbeam Meadow shimmered with a soft, silver glow, and the air here was filled with the quietest hum. Little moon-flowers, like tiny bells, chimed the softest, 'ding-dong… ding-dong' as the moonbeams danced around them.
Leo knew this was his stop. He parked his spaceship gently amidst the glowing moon-flowers. He took off his helmet, feeling the cool, peaceful air on his face. Comet was already fast asleep beside him. Leo snuggled down into his seat, pulling his blanket up to his chin. The soft 'ding-dong' of the moon-flowers and the gentle silver light filled his spaceship.
With a contented sigh, Leo closed his eyes. He imagined the Whispering Wind Planet's lullabies, the Sparkle Dust's gentle patter, and the softness of the Cloud Pillow Planet. He was so cozy, so warm, and so very, very sleepy. Soon, Leo was dreaming sweet dreams of moonbeams and quiet, happy planets, his little astronaut heart drifting peacefully off to sleep.
