A story for: Nora, Age 3
Created July 01, 2026
Once upon a time, nestled in a cozy burrows under the biggest, fluffiest dandelion, lived a little bunny named Nora. Nora had the softest, whitest fur, and the wiggliest nose. But what made Nora extra special was her brave heart, even when it was time for bed.
Every night, just as the sky turned a sleepy shade of purple and the first stars twinkled like tiny diamonds, Nora would get ready for an important job. It wasn't digging carrots or playing hopscotch. No, Nora’s job was to help light the dream lantern.
The dream lantern wasn't just any lantern. It was a magical, glowing orb that floated high above the bunny burrows. It didn't light up the night for seeing where to go. Instead, its gentle glow helped all the little bunnies, and even the big ones, have the sweetest, happiest dreams.
Tonight, as Nora snuggled into her warm bed, she remembered the lantern. "It's time to make sure everyone's dreams are bright and cozy," she whispered to her favorite plush mushroom. She hopped out of bed, her little paws making the softest pat-pat-pat sounds on the dirt floor.
Nora bravely peeked out her burrow door. The world outside was quiet and still. A big, round moon smiled down, making everything glow silver. Nora wasn't scared. She knew the moon was watching over her.
She took a deep breath, a brave little bunny breath, and imagined a tiny, warm spark of light in her heart. This was her special dream-spark. With a gentle stretch, she sent her dream-spark floating up, up, up, towards the big, sleepy sky. It danced like a tiny firefly, twirling and sparkling.
As Nora’s dream-spark reached the dream lantern, it settled softly inside. And just like magic, the lantern began to glow a little brighter, casting a warm, comforting light all over the sleeping world. Nora smiled. She knew that now, every bunny would have lovely dreams, filled with yummy clover and sunny meadows and friendly butterflies.
Feeling happy and very, very sleepy, Nora hopped back to her bed. She snuggled under her soft moss blanket, her eyes getting heavy. The gentle glow of the dream lantern outside seemed to wrap around her burrow, making it feel extra safe and warm. Nora closed her eyes, and as the dream lantern continued its soft, steady glow, she drifted off into her own sweet dreams, knowing she had helped light the way for everyone.
