A story for: Noah, Age 6
Created July 25, 2026
The moon, a friendly sliver of silver, peeked through Noah's window. It cast a soft, sleepy glow across his room, making his toy dinosaurs look like they were dreaming too.
Noah was snuggled in his bed, under his favorite blue blanket. He loved his blanket because it felt like a soft cloud, and sometimes, when the light was just right, he could almost see tiny, pretend stars sparkling in its fuzzy fibers.
Tonight, Noah felt extra cozy. He had spent the day building the tallest block tower ever, and then painting a rainbow that was so bright, his mommy said it could light up the whole house. Now, his little body felt tired in the very best way.
"Are you comfy, my little star-gazer?" his daddy whispered, sitting on the edge of the bed. Noah nodded, his eyes feeling heavy. "Do you know," Daddy continued, his voice like a warm, soft song, "that you are made of stardust?"
Noah blinked, his eyes widening just a tiny bit. "Stardust?" he mumbled.
"Yes, stardust," Daddy confirmed, gently tucking the blanket closer around Noah's chin. "The very same magic that makes the stars shine so bright in the sky, is inside you. It makes your laughter sparkle, and your hugs feel warm, and your ideas fly high like rockets."
Noah thought about this. He imagined tiny, shimmering flecks of stardust floating inside him, making his heart feel happy and full. He imagined them glowing softly, just like the pretend stars on his blanket.
"And you know what else, Noah?" Daddy whispered, pressing a gentle kiss on Noah's forehead. "My heart is made of stardust too. And Mommy's heart. And all that stardust loves your stardust very, very much. It wraps around you, just like this blanket, keeping you safe and warm, even when you're dreaming."
Noah closed his eyes. He could almost feel the warm, shimmering stardust of his mommy and daddy's love surrounding him. It was a comforting, gentle hug that settled deep in his chest. He imagined the little stars on his blanket beginning to glow softly, one by one, like tiny sleepy nightlights.
The room grew quiet, save for the soft hoot of an owl outside. Noah took a deep breath, smelling the familiar scent of his pillow. He felt safe. He felt loved. The stardust inside him, and the stardust all around him, hummed a quiet, happy tune. Slowly, peacefully, Noah drifted off to sleep, tucked warmly into his star blanket of love.
