A story for: Sage, Age 6
Created July 27, 2026
Far, far away, beyond the moon and twinkling stars, lived a little astronaut named Sage. Sage wasn't just any astronaut; Sage was a very sleepy astronaut. Every night, after tucking their toy robot into its tiny bed, Sage would climb into their own cozy spaceship, the 'Dream Weaver,' ready for a special bedtime mission.
Tonight, Sage rubbed their tired eyes and whispered, "Computer, take me to a calm planet, please." The Dream Weaver hummed softly, a gentle lullaby, as it floated through the inky blackness, sprinkled with glittery stardust.
Their first stop was Planet Cotton Cloud. It was a big, fluffy planet, soft as a giant marshmallow. Sage peeked out the window. Little cotton bunnies with sleepy smiles hopped slowly across the surface, leaving trails of moonbeams. The air was warm and smelled like sweet vanilla. Sage imagined sinking into a cloud, feeling its softness all around, and yawned a tiny yawn.
"Next stop, please, Computer," Sage mumbled, already feeling a bit droopy.
The Dream Weaver glided onward, past shimmering nebulae that looked like painted rainbows, until they reached Planet Hush-a-Bye Lake. This planet was covered in a vast, calm lake that reflected every star in the sky like a million tiny diamonds. On the surface, giant water lilies drifted, their petals gently swaying. Tiny glow-worms lit up the edges of the leaves, making soft, sleepy patterns. Sage saw sleepy fish with big, round eyes swimming slowly, making not a single ripple. The quiet was so deep, Sage could almost hear their own heart beating a slow, steady rhythm.
Sage leaned back in their spaceship chair, feeling the peaceful quiet wrap around them like a warm blanket. Their eyelids felt heavy, like they had tiny, fluffy weights on them.
"Just one more planet, Computer," Sage whispered, their voice getting softer and softer.
The Dream Weaver floated to its final destination: Planet Moonbeam Meadow. This planet was a field of tall, silvery grass that shimmered under the gentle light of three friendly moons. As the Dream Weaver landed softly, Sage saw little sleepy fireflies blinking on and off, creating a slow, comforting light show. The air here smelled like fresh lavender and dew. Sage imagined lying in the soft, silvery grass, watching the fireflies dance in slow motion, feeling completely safe and warm.
Sage snuggled down deeper into their chair, their head resting against the soft padding. The gentle hum of the Dream Weaver was the last sound they heard. The sleepy fireflies seemed to wink a final goodnight. Sage’s breathing became slow and even, just like the calm waves on Planet Hush-a-Bye Lake. And as the Dream Weaver floated quietly in the peaceful meadow, little astronaut Sage was finally, completely, dreamily asleep.
