A story for: Noah, Age 7
Created June 25, 2026
In a cozy burrow, snuggled deep beneath a whispering willow tree, lived a little bunny named Noah. Noah had the softest, fluffiest white fur and the biggest, most curious brown eyes. Every night, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange, Noah would get a little fluttery feeling in his tummy. Not a scared flutter, but an excited one, because nighttime was when the magic happened.
Tonight, as the stars began to twinkle like tiny diamonds scattered across a velvet cloth, Noah looked up at his mommy. “Mommy,” he whispered, “will the dream lantern visit tonight?”
Mommy Bunny smiled, her nose twitching gently. “Perhaps, my little adventurer. But remember, the dream lantern only shines for those who are truly ready for sleep.”
Noah loved the story of the dream lantern. It was said to be carried by a brave, tiny firefly, and its light was made of all the happiest thoughts and kindest wishes. When its gentle glow touched your dreams, they would become wonderfully bright and peaceful.
He hopped into his snug bed, pulling a soft moss blanket up to his chin. The air outside was cool and quiet, and through his burrow window, he could see the moon, a friendly, silver button in the sky. Noah closed his eyes, thinking about all the happy things from his day. He remembered chasing a dandelion puff through the meadow, its feathery seeds dancing in the breeze. He remembered sharing a juicy red berry with his best friend, Lily. He even remembered the comforting warmth of his mommy's hug.
As Noah focused on these lovely memories, he felt a faint, warm glow against his eyelids. He peeked open one eye, just a tiny slit, and there it was! A small, shimmering light, bobbing gently outside his window. It wasn't just any light; it was a soft, golden orb, pulsing with a gentle rhythm. The dream lantern!
The tiny firefly carrying it seemed to wink at Noah, its little antennae wiggling with delight. The light from the lantern streamed through his window, filling his room with a comforting, warm glow. It wasn't bright enough to keep him awake, but just enough to chase away any stray shadows or worries.
Noah felt a wave of calm wash over him. He imagined the lantern’s light weaving itself into the threads of his sleep, promising sweet dreams. He pictured himself floating on a cloud made of fluffiest cotton, soaring above a field of blooming flowers. He could almost smell their gentle perfume. The fluttery feeling in his tummy softened, turning into a peaceful, sleepy hum.
The dream lantern continued to glow, a silent guardian, as Noah’s eyelids grew heavy. His breathing became slow and even. The wonderful memories from his day swirled together with the soft light, guiding him deeper and deeper into a world of peaceful slumber. Soon, Noah, the brave little bunny, was fast asleep, dreaming the brightest, most wonderful dreams under the gentle watch of the dream lantern.
