A story for: Noah, Age 3
Created October 13, 2026
Once upon a time, high above the world where fluffy clouds sailed by like giant cotton balls, lived a little boy named Noah. Noah loved the night. Not because it was dark, but because that’s when his favorite friends came out to play: the moon and the stars.
Tonight, Noah was tucked snugly in his bed, his soft blanket pulled right up to his chin. He looked out his window. The moon, round and glowing like a friendly pearl, was already peeking over the treetops. "Hello, Moon!" whispered Noah, even though he knew the moon couldn't hear him. But it felt nice to say hello anyway.
Soon, tiny twinkles began to appear all around the moon. First one, then two, then so many Noah couldn't count them all. They were the stars, sparkling like little diamonds scattered across a velvet cloth. Noah imagined they were winking at him, saying, "Goodnight, Noah!"
He watched as one particularly bright star, right next to the moon, seemed to glow a little extra. Noah called it his special star. He imagined his special star was telling a secret story just for him, a story about dreams and sleepy wishes.
The moon seemed to smile down, a gentle, sleepy smile. The stars shimmered softly, like little lullabies sparkling in the sky. Noah felt so warm and cozy. He thought about how the moon watched over everyone while they slept, and how the stars kept it company, never letting it feel lonely.
He closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them again, the special star seemed even closer. He pretended it was whispering, "Shhh, Noah. It's time to rest your eyes. We'll be here all night, watching over you."
Noah took a big, soft breath. He felt his eyelids getting heavy, like two little blankets pulling down. The gentle glow of the moon filled his room, making everything feel safe and peaceful. He could almost hear the stars humming a soft, sleepy song.
His head sank deeper into his pillow. The winking stars and the smiling moon were still there, but they looked a little blurry now. Noah knew they would keep shining their soft light until the sun woke up. He closed his eyes one last time, feeling loved and very, very sleepy. And as the moon and stars continued their quiet watch, Noah drifted off to dreamland, a gentle smile on his face.
