Remy's Cozy Room

A story for: Remy, Age 4

Created September 16, 2026

Once upon a time, in a house filled with soft, happy sounds, lived a little boy named Remy. Remy loved his room more than anything. It was a very special place, just for him.

Tonight, the moon peeked through his window like a friendly, round eye, casting a gentle glow on his rug. Remy was snuggled in his bed, under his favorite blue blanket that felt like a soft cloud. His fluffy teddy bear, Barnaby, was tucked in right beside him, ready for a good night's sleep too.

Remy looked around his room. He saw his little red truck parked neatly by his bookshelf, waiting for morning adventures. On his wall, a picture of a smiling sun seemed to be wishing him sweet dreams. He giggled softly, thinking of all the fun he had playing in his room today.

He remembered building a tall tower of blocks that almost touched the ceiling. He remembered reading a storybook with colourful pictures, pointing at all the different animals. His room was a place for playing, a place for imagining, and now, a place for resting.

He closed his eyes for a moment, and then opened them again, just to make sure everything was safe and sound. The air in his room felt warm and peaceful. He could hear the soft, rhythmic tick-tock of the clock in the hallway, a gentle lullaby for sleepy ears.

His mommy had given him a kiss and sung his favorite sleepy song. Her voice was like a warm hug, and now, he carried that warmth inside him. He took a deep, slow breath, and then let it out slowly, just like a little sigh of contentment.

Remy’s eyelids started to feel a bit heavy, like tiny curtains wanting to close for the night. He snuggled deeper into his bed, feeling the softness of his blanket and the comforting fluffiness of Barnaby next to him. He imagined his room was like a big, cozy nest, holding him safe and sound.

He thought of the moon watching over him, and the stars twinkling like tiny nightlights in the sky. All was quiet, all was peaceful. Remy yawned a big, sleepy yawn. His body felt relaxed, from his little toes to the top of his head. He was so very, very sleepy.

And as the moon shone softly through his window, and Barnaby snored a tiny, imaginary snore beside him, Remy’s eyes finally closed all the way. He drifted off to sleep, dreaming sweet dreams in his warm, cozy, and very special room.
