A story for: Sage, Age 4
Created August 04, 2026
Once upon a time, in a house filled with soft, warm light, lived a little girl named Sage. Sage had the coziest bedroom in the whole wide world. It was a special place, just for her.
Tonight, as the sun began to dip below the clouds, painting the sky in sleepy pinks and purples, Sage got ready for bed. Her mommy helped her put on her softest pajamas, the ones with the little fluffy sheep on them. Sage loved those pajamas. They felt like a gentle hug.
First, Sage went to her window. She looked out at the sky and saw the very first star twinkling, like a tiny diamond. “Hello, little star,” she whispered. “Are you getting ready for bed too?” She giggled, imagining the star snuggling into its cloud bed.
Next, Sage went to her bookshelf. It was filled with colorful stories about brave knights and friendly dragons and sleepy bears. She picked out her favorite one, about a little bunny who found his way home through a field of sleepy flowers. Her mommy read the story in a soft, gentle voice, and Sage snuggled close, feeling very safe and loved.
After the story, it was time for goodnight kisses. Mommy kissed her forehead, her nose, and even her sleepy little toes. Daddy gave her a big bear hug that made her feel warm all over.
Sage climbed into her bed. Her sheets were so soft, like a cloud, and her pillow was fluffy, like a sleepy marshmallow. She pulled up her cozy duvet, which was covered in little stars that seemed to glow faintly in the dim light. Her favorite teddy bear, Mr. Snuggles, was already waiting for her. She gave him a squeeze.
She closed her eyes, and all around her, her bedroom felt like a warm, safe nest. She could hear the gentle tick-tock of the clock on her bedside table, a comforting sound. She thought about her fluffy sheep pajamas, her twinkling star, her favorite bunny story, and the warm hugs from Mommy and Daddy. Each thought was like a soft, fluffy cloud floating by.
Sage took a deep, sleepy breath. The air in her room smelled sweet and clean. Her eyelids felt heavier and heavier, like two little stones ready to rest. She nestled deeper into her pillow, feeling the softness all around her. Her breathing became slow and steady. Soon, Sage was fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams in her cozy, peaceful bedroom.
