A story for: Zoe, Age 3
Created September 19, 2026
Deep in the velvety night, where stars twinkled like tiny diamonds, lived a little girl named Zoe. Zoe wasn't just any little girl; she was a sleepy astronaut with the coziest spaceship you ever did see. It was shaped like a big, comfy cloud, and inside, it was soft and warm, just like her favorite blanket.
Tonight, Zoe was feeling extra sleepy, but she wanted to visit one last planet before drifting off to dreamland. She put on her sparkly silver helmet and buckled up. “Zoom!” she whispered as her cloud-ship floated gently away from her bedroom window.
First, Zoe visited the Lavender Moon. It wasn’t a moon made of cheese, oh no! It was a moon made of soft, fluffy lavender flowers. The air smelled sweet and calming, like a lullaby. Zoe’s cloud-ship landed softly, making no sound at all. She peeked out her window and saw little moon bunnies hopping quietly, nibbling on lavender leaves. They looked so peaceful, with their soft, fluffy ears. Zoe gave a big, happy yawn.
Next, her cloud-ship floated to the Whispering Willow Planet. This planet was covered in tall, graceful trees, all made of soft, green willow branches. When the wind blew, the leaves didn't rustle loudly; they whispered gentle secrets to each other. *Shhh-shhh-shhh*, went the trees, a sound so soft it made Zoe’s eyelids feel heavy. Little fireflies danced slowly between the branches, their lights glowing like tiny, sleepy lanterns. Zoe snuggled deeper into her seat.
Finally, Zoe’s cloud-ship arrived at the Blanket Bay. This wasn't a planet with land or water, but a vast, shimmering bay made entirely of soft, fluffy clouds, just like the inside of her spaceship! The clouds glowed with a gentle, warm light, and they moved ever so slowly, like a giant, cozy blanket drifting in the sky. Little star-fish, not the kind that live in the ocean, but the kind that glowed softly, floated peacefully in the cloud-bay.
Zoe felt so warm and safe. Her cloud-ship settled right into the biggest, puffiest cloud in Blanket Bay. She took off her helmet and put it beside her. The soft glow from the star-fish made everything feel dreamy. Zoe closed her eyes, imagining herself floating on the softest cloud in the whole wide universe.
She heard the gentle *shhh-shhh-shhh* of the Whispering Willows, and she smelled the sweet, calming lavender from the Lavender Moon. Her cloud-ship was her bed, and Blanket Bay was her perfect, sleepy place. Zoe gave one last, happy sigh, and then, she was fast asleep, dreaming of soft clouds and twinkling stars.
