A story for: Theo, Age 3
Created August 30, 2026
Tonight, little Theo was snuggled tight in his bed, ready for a special adventure. He wasn't just Theo tonight; he was Astronaut Theo, ready to explore the big, dark, sparkly sky.
He closed his eyes and imagined his spaceship. It was big and soft, like a fluffy cloud, and it smelled like warm milk and honey. His co-pilot was his favorite teddy bear, Captain Cuddles, who was already buckled in, snoozing softly.
Three, two, one, blast off! Theo’s spaceship floated up, up, up past the tallest trees, past the sleepy birds in their nests, and past the moon, which looked like a giant, friendly cheese puff in the sky.
Out in space, everything was quiet and peaceful. The stars twinkled like tiny diamonds scattered on a big, velvet blanket. Theo saw a big, red star that looked like a juicy apple, and a tiny, blue star that winked at him like a sleepy eye.
“Look, Captain Cuddles,” Theo whispered, “a star that looks like a sleepy cat!” Captain Cuddles just snored a little deeper, dreaming of chasing yarn balls across the Milky Way.
Theo floated past a planet that was all swirly pink and purple, like a delicious lollipop. He imagined little, friendly aliens on that planet, playing hide-and-seek among the sparkly lollipop trees.
He saw another planet that was bright orange, like a giant pumpkin. Maybe friendly pumpkin-patch aliens lived there, Theo thought, and they had parties with warm, spicy pumpkin pie.
But the best part was when Theo found his very own star. It was a little star, not too big, not too small. It twinkled with a soft, sleepy light, just for him. Theo reached out his hand, and the star felt warm and fuzzy, like a kitten’s fur.
He gave his sleepy star a gentle pat. “Goodnight, little star,” he whispered. “You’re the prettiest star in the whole wide sky.”
His spaceship slowly started to float back down, down, down. It drifted past the moon, past the sleepy birds, and gently landed right beside his bed. Theo was still holding his sleepy star in his heart, feeling its warm, soft glow.
He snuggled deeper into his covers. Captain Cuddles was still snoozing beside him, his little astronaut helmet slightly askew. Theo closed his eyes, thinking of the friendly stars and the lollipop planet. He felt so warm and cozy, like he was still floating in his soft spaceship. And with a soft, peaceful sigh, little Astronaut Theo drifted off to sleep, dreaming of his very own twinkling star.
