Remy's Ocean Lullaby

A story for: Remy, Age 6

Created August 09, 2026

Far, far out in the big, blue ocean lived a gentle whale named Remy. Remy wasn't like other whales who might leap and splash. Remy was special because he had the most soothing, humming voice in all the sea. It was a voice made for singing the ocean to sleep.

Every evening, as the sun began to dip below the waves, painting the sky in soft oranges and purples, Remy would get ready for his very important job. He’d take a deep breath, filling his enormous lungs with the salty air, and then, a soft, low hum would begin.

His song wasn't made of words, but of gentle vibrations that traveled through the water like a warm hug. It was a sound that told the little fish to find their cozy seaweed beds. It told the busy crabs to tuck their claws in for the night. It even told the bright coral to twinkle a little softer.

Tonight, Remy started his lullaby with a long, slow note, like a yawn stretching across the ocean. The tiny silver fish, who had been darting and playing all day, felt the hum and began to slow their wiggles. They gathered close in their schools, their scales glinting like scattered moonlight as they prepared for slumber.

He sang about the quiet depths where sleepy starfish dreamed. He hummed about the peaceful currents that rocked baby jellyfish. Each note was like a soft blanket, tucking in a different part of the ocean.

The moon peeked out, a silver sliver in the dark sky, and listened to Remy’s song. Even the waves, which usually liked to crash and splash, became quiet and calm, gently lapping against the shore in time with Remy's tune.

Remy swam slowly, his enormous body gliding gracefully through the water, his song never stopping. He felt so happy knowing he was helping all his ocean friends rest. He hummed a special, extra-soft verse just for the little sea turtles, who were snuggled in their sandy nests, dreaming of swimming to distant shores.

As the last notes of his lullaby faded into the peaceful night, Remy felt a gentle wave of sleepiness wash over him too. He found his own favorite, quiet spot near a large, smooth rock. He took one last, soft breath, and with a contented sigh, Remy the gentle whale drifted off to sleep, his heart full of the quiet ocean and the sweet dreams of his friends.
