Nora's Cozy Room

A story for: Nora, Age 4

Created September 09, 2026

Once upon a time, in a house filled with soft, happy sounds, lived a little girl named Nora. Nora had a very special room, her very own cozy place where dreams loved to visit.

As the sun began to dip below the rooftops, painting the sky in sleepy shades of orange and pink, Nora knew it was almost time for bed. She snuggled her favorite stuffed bunny, Mopsy, close. Mopsy had soft, floppy ears and a tiny pink nose, perfect for bedtime cuddles.

First, Nora helped her mommy tidy up her toys. The colorful blocks went back into their basket, the pretty dolls sat neatly on the shelf, and the crayons rested quietly in their box. Nora hummed a little tune as she tidied, a happy, quiet hum that made her room feel even more peaceful.

Next, it was time for a warm, bubbly bath. The water felt so soft on Nora’s skin, like a gentle hug. She splashed a little, making tiny waves, and watched the bubbles float and pop. After her bath, Nora put on her favorite pajamas, the ones with the tiny, glowing stars. They felt like a soft cloud, ready for sleepy time.

Back in her room, Nora climbed into her bed. Her sheets were clean and smelled like sunshine, and her pillow was just right for her head. Her mommy sat beside her, and together they read a story about a little bear who loved to sleep in his warm, cozy cave. Nora traced the pictures with her finger, feeling calm and safe.

When the story was finished, Nora’s mommy gave her a kiss on her forehead. “Sweet dreams, my little star,” she whispered.

Nora snuggled deeper under her covers. She looked around her room. Her nightlight cast a soft glow, making friendly shadows dance on the wall. Her teddy bear sat on the chair, watching over her. The moon peeked through her window, a silver smile in the dark sky.

Nora closed her eyes. She imagined she was floating on a fluffy white cloud, drifting gently through the sky. She could hear the soft tick-tock of the clock and the quiet hum of the house. Everything was peaceful. Everything was calm.

Nora took a deep, sleepy breath. Her eyelids felt heavy, like they were made of feathers. She hugged Mopsy tightly, feeling the soft fur against her cheek. Soon, Nora was fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams in her very own cozy room, safe and sound until morning.
