Remy and the Sleepy Moon

A story for: Remy, Age 3

Created October 20, 2026

Deep in a cozy, cloud-soft land, lived a little dragon named Remy. Remy wasn't like other dragons you might see in stories. He didn't breathe fire that was hot and loud. Oh no! Remy breathed out soft, shimmery, sleepy dust, like tiny, gentle stars.

Every night, Remy would watch from his cloud perch as the big, round Moon slowly came out. Sometimes, the Moon looked a little bit tired. Its glow wasn't as bright, and it seemed to yawn a long, silent yawn across the sky.

One evening, Remy saw the Moon looking extra sleepy. "Oh dear," Remy whispered, his voice like the rustle of soft leaves. "The Moon needs a good night's rest!"

So, Remy took a big, gentle breath. *Pooof!* Out came a puff of his special sleepy dust, sparkling like diamond sprinkles. He aimed it very carefully, just for the Moon. The sleepy dust drifted up, up, up, swirling around the big, round Moon like a warm, sparkly blanket.

The Moon blinked its sleepy eyes. It felt the gentle tickle of Remy's dust. A big, happy sigh floated down from the sky. The Moon's light grew softer, dimmer, and more peaceful.

Remy watched, a happy little dragon. He knew the Moon was getting ready for its own sweet dreams. He breathed out a few more tiny puffs, just to make sure the Moon was extra snuggly. The sleepy dust made the sky around the Moon look like a beautiful, hazy dream.

Soon, the Moon was glowing with a very soft, sleepy light, like a nightlight for all the world. It was resting, dreaming happy Moon dreams.

Remy felt very proud. He had helped his friend, the Moon, fall asleep. He stretched his little dragon wings, which felt soft and warm from all his good work. The air around him was quiet and still, just like the sleeping Moon.

He yawned a tiny, sleepy dragon yawn. Remy snuggled down onto his cloud perch, pulling a fluffy cloud over himself like a blanket. He closed his eyes, feeling the gentle sway of his cloud home. The soft, sleepy dust he had breathed out earlier now seemed to float around him too, making his own eyelids feel heavy and warm.

Remy drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sparkly dust and a happy, well-rested Moon, shining softly in the deep, quiet night.
