A story for: Luna, Age 3
Created September 29, 2026
The sun was dipping low, painting the jungle sky in soft oranges and purples. Luna the dinosaur, a little Brachiosaurus with big, kind eyes, was getting sleepy. Her mama had just given her a warm, leafy dinner, and now it was time for stories.
“Mama,” Luna yawned, her long neck swaying gently, “tell me about the friendly jungle.”
Mama Brachiosaurus smiled, her voice like a soft rustle of leaves. “Of course, my sweet Luna. The jungle is a very special place when everyone is getting ready for bed.”
Luna snuggled closer, her scales feeling cozy against her mama’s warm side. “Are the other dinosaurs sleeping too?”
“Oh yes,” Mama said, her voice a gentle hum. “Little T-Rex Timmy is dreaming of juicy berries, not chasing anything at all. He’s all tucked in his nest, soft as can be.”
Luna giggled softly. “Timmy likes berries?”
“He does,” Mama confirmed. “And over by the sparkling waterfall, Penelope the Pterodactyl is dreaming of flying on fluffy clouds. Her wings are folded neatly, and she’s breathing in the cool night air.”
Luna imagined Penelope, high in her tree, a peaceful little shape against the deepening blue. “What about the really big dinosaurs?” she asked, her eyelids feeling heavier.
“Even the biggest dinosaurs are getting sleepy, my love,” Mama whispered. “Big Stegosaurus Stanley is resting his spiky tail. He’s dreaming of munching on the juiciest ferns in the whole jungle, and not stomping even a little bit.”
Luna pictured Stanley, a gentle giant, fast asleep. The jungle outside was becoming quieter. The chirping of the night insects was a soft lullaby, and the air was getting cooler.
“Are the trees sleeping too?” Luna murmured, her voice barely a whisper.
“The trees are swaying gently, like they’re dancing in their dreams,” Mama said. “They’re holding all the sleepy birds in their branches, keeping them safe and warm.”
Luna felt her own eyelids flutter. The soft sounds of the jungle were wrapping around her like a warm blanket. She imagined all her friendly dinosaur friends, safe and sound in their beds, dreaming happy dreams. Her mama’s warm scales, the gentle sway of the jungle, and the quiet chirping outside made her feel very peaceful.
She yawned a big, sleepy yawn. “Goodnight, Mama,” she whispered, her eyes finally closing. She was already drifting into her own gentle jungle dream, a dream full of soft leaves, sparkling waterfalls, and her friendly dinosaur friends, all sleeping soundly under the kind jungle moon.
