A story for: Luna, Age 6
Created August 24, 2026
Once upon a time, in a cozy little house tucked under a blanket of stars, lived a girl named Luna. Luna loved the stars more than anything. Every night, she would peek out her window, imagining adventures among the sparkling lights.
One evening, as the moonbeam painted silver stripes across her room, Luna snuggled into her bed. She closed her eyes and, with a little wiggle of her toes, she felt a gentle lift. Up, up, up she floated, past the highest tree and the fluffiest cloud, right into the big, dark, wonderful sky!
Luna found herself in a spaceship, not a noisy, clunky one, but a soft, humming ship that smelled faintly of warm cookies. Through the big, round window, she saw a universe sparkling with colors she'd never imagined – emerald greens, sapphire blues, and golds that shimmered like tiny wishes.
Soon, her spaceship landed softly on a planet that looked like a giant marshmallow. The ground felt bouncy and soft under her feet. And that's when she saw them!
Little creatures, no bigger than her hand, with skin that glowed a soft lavender and eyes like tiny, kind stars. They had no mouths, but they communicated with gentle tinkling sounds, like tiny bells in the wind. Luna wasn't scared at all; their starry eyes twinkled with curiosity and warmth.
One little alien, who glowed a little brighter than the rest, floated over to her. It held out a small, round object that pulsed with a gentle light. It was a 'Dream Orb,' the little alien seemed to tinkle. If you held it, it would show you your happiest dreams.
Luna carefully took the Dream Orb. It felt warm and comforting in her hand. As she held it, pictures began to swirl inside her mind: her puppy chasing a butterfly, her mom reading her favorite story, and the stars outside her window, even brighter than before.
She looked at the friendly, glowing aliens, who were now gently swaying to a silent, sleepy melody. They seemed to be inviting her to rest. Luna felt a soft yawn bubble up. The marshmallow ground was so comfortable, and the tinkling sounds of the aliens were like a lullaby.
She lay down, the Dream Orb still glowing softly in her hand. The starry-eyed aliens gathered around, their gentle light making her feel safe and loved. As the soft hum of the spaceship returned, carrying her back through the starlit sky, Luna closed her eyes. The Dream Orb's warmth, the memory of the kind aliens, and the quiet journey home filled her with a peaceful, sleepy feeling. She drifted off to sleep, dreaming of marshmallow planets and friendly, star-eyed friends, her little heart filled with the wonder of her starry adventure.
