A story for: Ivy, Age 5
Created June 30, 2026
Deep in a cozy little nook, nestled among soft moss and fragrant clover, lived a tiny mouse named Ivy. Ivy had the brightest, most curious eyes, and a heart full of wonder. Every night, as the big, bright moon peeked through the leaves, Ivy would snuggle close to her mama, but her little mind often wandered to the world outside.
Tonight, Ivy felt especially sleepy, but her eyes kept drifting towards a special spot just beyond their home. It was a place she had only dreamed of, a place Mama called the Star-Glow Forest. Mama had told her stories of how the trees there shimmered with a gentle light, like tiny stars had come down to rest on their branches.
“Mama,” Ivy whispered, “will I ever see the Star-Glow Forest?”
Mama Mouse stroked Ivy’s soft fur. “You see it every night, my dear, in your dreams. And tonight, I think you’re ready for a special visit.”
Ivy’s little heart fluttered with excitement. She closed her eyes, imagining the forest, and as she did, a warm, sleepy feeling began to float over her. Suddenly, the soft moss beneath her felt even softer, and the air smelled like sweet moonlight.
When Ivy opened her eyes, she wasn't in her bed anymore. She was standing at the edge of a magnificent forest! The trees weren't ordinary trees; their leaves and branches twinkled with a soft, warm light, like thousands of tiny, sleepy stars. Some lights were a gentle blue, others a soft yellow, and some a calming, silvery white.
“It’s even more beautiful than you said, Mama,” Ivy whispered, though Mama wasn’t there. A tiny, luminous butterfly with wings that glowed like moonbeams fluttered past her nose. It seemed to beckon her deeper into the forest.
Ivy took a brave, tiny step. The ground beneath her paws felt like softest velvet, and with every step, a tiny puff of star-dust glittered around her. The air was filled with a soft hum, like a lullaby sung by the wind through the glowing leaves. She saw little fireflies dancing in slow circles, their lights blinking in time with her gentle breaths.
She found a clearing where the star-glow was brightest. There, a large, smooth stone glowed with a warm, steady light, inviting her to rest. Ivy curled up on the stone, feeling the gentle warmth seep into her tiny body. The soft hum of the forest filled her ears, and the twinkling lights seemed to dance a slow, sleepy ballet just for her.
Ivy watched the star-lights, feeling safe and cozy. Each little light seemed to whisper, “Sleep now, little Ivy. Rest now, sweet dreams.” Her eyelids grew heavy, heavier than ever before. The Star-Glow Forest was the most wonderful place, and she felt so peaceful here. As the soft glow enveloped her, Ivy’s breathing became even and deep, and she drifted into the most beautiful, star-filled sleep, dreaming of shimmering leaves and soft, warm light.
