A story for: Ivy, Age 4
Created October 02, 2026
Once upon a time, nestled in a valley where the moonbeams sparkled brightest, lived a little girl named Ivy. Ivy lived in a beautiful, soft castle made of fluffy clouds. Every night, as the sun dipped down and painted the sky in sleepy oranges and pinks, Ivy would get ready for bed in her cloud castle.
Tonight, Ivy put on her favorite cozy pajamas, covered in tiny, twinkling stars. She gave a big yawn, like a little kitten stretching. Her mommy tucked her into her cloud bed, which felt like sleeping on a marshmallow. The blanket was made of the gentlest, softest moon dust, and it felt like a warm hug.
Ivy looked around her room. The walls of her cloud castle were painted with glow-in-the-dark flowers that bloomed softly when the lights went out. A friendly little firefly, named Flicker, danced quietly by her window, its tiny light blinking a gentle goodnight.
“Goodnight, Flicker,” Ivy whispered, her eyes feeling heavy. Flicker blinked back a happy goodbye.
Mommy sat beside her, humming a soft, quiet tune. It was a song about sleepy stars and whispering winds. Ivy imagined the stars outside, winking slowly, one by one, as they got ready for their own quiet sleep in the sky.
She closed her eyes and thought about her day. She remembered playing with her soft, fluffy bear, and drawing pictures of rainbow bridges. She remembered splashing in a tiny puddle after a very gentle rain shower. All these happy thoughts made her tummy feel warm and happy.
The cloud castle felt safe and cozy. She could hear the faintest, softest sound of the wind outside, like a lullaby singing her to sleep. The moonbeams tiptoed through her window, making soft, silver patterns on her blanket. They looked like sleepy ribbons.
Ivy snuggled deeper into her marshmallow bed. Her breathing became slow and steady, like a quiet wave going in and out. The gentle hum of her mommy’s song was like a warm blanket wrapping around her ears.
She imagined she was floating on a fluffy cloud, drifting slowly, slowly through a sky filled with sleepy stars. Her eyelids felt heavy, heavier than fluffy feathers. All the busy thoughts of the day floated away, like tiny bubbles popping in the air.
Ivy took a deep, soft breath, and then another. Her little body felt so warm and peaceful. She was almost, almost, all the way asleep. Her lips parted slightly in a tiny, sleepy smile. In her cozy cloud castle, Ivy was drifting off into a sweet, peaceful dream.
