A story for: Noah, Age 5
Created August 10, 2026
Noah was a little astronaut with big, sleepy eyes. Tonight, his special pajamas were on, his toothbrush was clean, and his cozy bed looked like a fluffy white cloud. But before he snuggled in, Noah had one more adventure to take – a journey through his very own sleepy solar system!
He zipped up his imaginary spacesuit, which felt just like his soft pajamas, and climbed into his rocket ship, which looked an awful lot like his bed. With a quiet 'whoosh,' Noah floated off into the inky-blue night, past twinkling stars that winked hello.
His first stop was Planet Cotton Cloud. It was a big, puffy planet, so soft and gentle. When Noah landed, it felt like sinking into a giant, warm marshmallow. Little cotton sheep with woolly backs floated by, making tiny 'baa' sounds that sounded like whispers. Noah lay down on the fluffy surface, feeling very calm. He watched the cotton sheep drift, drift, drift, until his eyelids started to feel a little heavy.
Next, his rocket drifted to Planet Lavender Dreams. This planet glowed with a soft purple light and smelled like the prettiest flowers. Everywhere Noah looked, there were gentle lavender bushes swaying in a silent breeze. Tiny, sparkly fireflies danced slowly in the air, creating patterns that looked like sleepy wishes. Noah took a deep breath, filling his nose with the sweet, calming smell. He felt his shoulders relax, and a big yawn stretched across his face.
His rocket ship moved on, gliding quietly to Planet Silken Stream. This planet was covered in long, wavy ribbons of water that flowed without a sound. The water wasn't cold or wet; it felt like soft, cool silk against his fingertips. Noah dipped his toes in the shimmering 'water' and watched as little glowing fish swam by, making no splashes at all. The gentle movement of the silken streams made him feel even sleepier, like he was floating on a peaceful river.
Finally, Noah’s rocket ship brought him home, right back to his cozy bed. He pulled his soft blanket up to his chin, remembering the fluffy cotton clouds, the sweet lavender smells, and the silent, silken streams. The stars outside his window still twinkled, but now they looked like sleepy eyes, just like his own. Noah closed his big, sleepy eyes. He snuggled deep into his pillow, feeling safe and warm and oh-so-very tired. And as the moon peeked in, Noah, the brave little astronaut, drifted off into the most wonderful, peaceful sleep.
