Wren's Cozy Castle

A story for: Wren, Age 3

Created October 12, 2026

Once upon a time, nestled in a soft, green valley, lived a little girl named Wren. Wren lived in a very special castle. It wasn't a castle with tall, pointy towers or big, cold stones. Oh no! Wren's castle was made of the warmest, fuzziest blankets and the softest, fluffiest pillows. It was her very own cozy bed!

Tonight, Wren was getting ready for a big adventure. She snuggled under her quilt, which felt like a warm, gentle cloud. Her teddy bear, Barnaby, was her brave knight, sitting right beside her, ready for sweet dreams.

First, Wren peeked out from under her blanket castle. The moon, a big, round, sleepy light, smiled down from her window. It sprinkled tiny, shimmery moonbeams all over her room, making everything sparkle like magic dust.

“Goodnight, moon,” Wren whispered, her voice soft as a butterfly’s wings. The moon seemed to wink, promising gentle dreams.

Next, Wren closed her eyes and listened. She heard the softest, quietest sounds. The gentle tick-tock of the clock on her shelf, like a tiny heartbeat. The whisper of the wind outside, singing a lullaby to the trees. Even Barnaby seemed to be making little sleepy hums.

Wren imagined her blanket castle was floating on a peaceful, calm lake. The lake was made of sleepy-time tea, warm and soothing. She felt herself drift, drift, drift, like a little boat on the water. Each little wave was a breath in and a breath out.

She thought about her favorite things from the day. A fluffy, white cloud that looked like a sheep. A happy, yellow flower that smelled so sweet. A ladybug that tickled her finger. All these happy thoughts were like little stars twinkling inside her head.

Slowly, Wren’s eyelids grew heavy, like two little curtains closing over her eyes. Her breathing became even and deep. The moonbeams danced softly across her room, painting sleepy patterns.

Barnaby, her brave knight, snuggled closer, guarding her dreams. Wren felt safe and warm in her cozy castle, surrounded by soft blankets and gentle quiet. She was drifting, drifting, drifting into a land of sweet, happy dreams. Her little body felt so light, so relaxed. And with a final, peaceful sigh, Wren was fast asleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and dancing moonbeams, tucked snugly in her very own cozy castle.
