Theo's Cozy Cloud Room

A story for: Theo, Age 6

Created June 23, 2026

Theo loved his bedroom more than any other room in the whole wide world. It was his special place, a cozy nest just for him. Tonight, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in soft oranges and purples, Theo snuggled into his bed.

He pulled his favorite blue blanket, the one that felt like a soft cloud, right up to his chin. His pillow, fluffy and cool, was just right for his head. He looked around his room. His teddy bear, Barnaby, sat propped up on his bedside table, watching over him with gentle, button eyes. Theo gave him a little wave.

The nightlight in the corner cast a warm, glowy circle on the wall, like a friendly moonbeam. Theo liked how it chased away all the dark shadows, leaving only soft, sleepy light. He could see his train set on the rug, all the little wooden engines lined up perfectly, ready for adventures another day. And his picture books, stacked neatly, looked like sleeping stories, waiting to be read.

Theo took a deep, slow breath, just like his mommy taught him. He imagined the air filling his tummy like a balloon, and then slowly letting it out. *Whoosh*, went the air. *Whoosh*.

He closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, the ceiling above him seemed to sparkle a tiny bit, as if it held a secret of its own. He thought about all the good things that happened today. He had built a tall tower with his blocks, almost touching the sky! And he had eaten his favorite apple slices, crisp and sweet.

His room felt so safe and peaceful. It was a place where he could dream big dreams and rest his little body. The sounds of the house were soft now, like whispers. Maybe the floorboards were telling sleepy stories to each other. Maybe the wind outside was humming a quiet lullaby to the trees.

Theo yawned a big, happy yawn. His eyelids started to feel heavy, like tiny curtains slowly closing. He imagined his bed turning into a soft, fluffy cloud, floating gently through the night sky. Barnaby the teddy bear was on his own cloud right beside him, smiling.

He listened to his own breathing, soft and steady. *In and out. In and out.* The cloud room felt warm and comforting. Theo snuggled deeper into his blue blanket. He knew his room would keep him safe and sound all through the night, until the morning sun peeked through his window again. With a final, happy sigh, Theo drifted off to sleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and friendly moonbeams.
