A story for: Sage, Age 3
Created August 13, 2026
Once upon a time, high up on a soft green hill, lived a little girl named Sage. Sage had the prettiest castle you ever did see. It wasn't made of hard stone or cold metal, oh no. Sage's castle was made of fluffy clouds and sparkly moonbeams.
Every night, just as the sun dipped down and painted the sky in oranges and pinks, Sage would get ready for her castle adventures. First, she would put on her comfiest pajamas, soft as a kitten's fur. Then, she would snuggle into her favorite blanket, which felt like a warm, gentle hug.
Tonight, Sage felt a little sleepy tingle in her toes. She climbed into her cloud bed, which was like lying on the gentlest, softest marshmallow. Her pillow was a puffy cloud, just right for her head.
From her window, she could see the stars beginning to twinkle. Each little star was like a tiny, happy wink from the sky. The moon, big and round, shone like a friendly night light, making soft, silvery paths across her castle floor.
Sage loved to imagine the quiet sounds of her castle at night. She heard the gentle whispers of the wind as it softly sang a lullaby through her cloud towers. Wooosh, wooosh, went the wind, a very quiet, happy sound. She imagined little sleepy fireflies blinking their tiny lights, saying goodnight to the flowers in her castle garden.
Her favorite part was imagining the castle’s sleepy pets. There was a fluffy cloud kitten named Puffle, who purred a soft, rumbling sound, a sound like a tiny, happy motor. And a sleepy moonbeam puppy named Shimmer, who curled up at the foot of her bed, his fur sparkling faintly in the moonlight. Puffle and Shimmer were very good at sleeping, and tonight, they were already dreaming sweet dreams.
Sage closed her eyes, and she could still see the sparkly moonbeams dancing behind her eyelids. She took a deep, soft breath, and then another. Her body felt heavy and warm, sinking deeper into her cloud bed. The wind whispered its last, gentle wooosh. Puffle’s purr was a comforting rumble. Shimmer gave a tiny, sleepy sigh.
Sage felt herself drifting, drifting, like a little boat on a calm, quiet lake. The world outside her castle was quiet and peaceful. She was safe and warm in her fluffy, moonbeam castle. Her breathing became slow and steady. And with a soft, happy sigh, little Sage drifted off to sleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and sparkling stars.
