Wren's Cozy Bedroom Adventure

A story for: Wren, Age 3

Created October 02, 2026

Once upon a time, in a house filled with soft, warm light, lived a little bird named Wren. Not a real bird with feathers and wings, but a little boy named Wren, with soft brown hair and sleepy, sparkling eyes.

Tonight, Wren was getting ready for bed. He had brushed his tiny teeth and snuggled into his favorite pajamas, which were soft blue, just like the evening sky.

First, Wren looked around his cozy bedroom. His teddy bear, Barnaby, was already tucked into a little chair, waiting for Wren to join him in dreamland. Wren gave Barnaby a gentle pat on his fuzzy head. "Goodnight, Barnaby," he whispered.

Next, Wren looked at his comfy bed. It had a big, fluffy duvet that felt like a cloud, and two plump pillows that were perfect for resting his head. He climbed in, feeling the soft sheets against his skin. It felt so nice and warm.

Wren snuggled deep into his bed. He watched the shadows dance on the wall, made by the soft glow of his nightlight. The shadows looked like little sleepy animals playing hide-and-seek. One looked like a friendly rabbit, and another looked like a quiet squirrel.

He listened to the gentle sounds of the house. He heard a very soft 'tick-tock' from the clock in the hall, like a little heart beating slowly. And he heard the quiet 'shhh' of the wind outside, like the world was whispering goodnight.

Wren closed his eyes for a moment and imagined he was floating on a big, soft leaf down a sleepy river. The leaf swayed gently, back and forth, back and forth. He felt so safe and so loved.

He thought about all the happy things he did today: building a tall tower with his blocks, playing peek-a-boo with his daddy, and eating a yummy strawberry. All these happy memories made his heart feel warm and full.

Wren took a deep breath, filling his tummy with peaceful air, and then let it out slowly, like a soft sigh. He did it again, in and out, in and out. His eyelids felt heavy, heavy like two little sleepy butterflies.

The soft glow from his nightlight made his room feel extra cozy and safe. Wren snuggled deeper into his cloud-like bed, feeling his body relax from his toes all the way up to his sleepy head. The world outside was quiet, and his bedroom was the safest, coziest place to be. Wren yawned a tiny, sleepy yawn, and slowly, very slowly, he drifted off to sleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and gentle rivers.
