A story for: Sage, Age 3
Created September 02, 2026
Once upon a time, in a cozy little house tucked beside a field of soft, glowing moonflowers, lived a sweet little girl named Sage.
Tonight, Sage was snuggled deep in her bed, her favorite fluffy bunny, Binky, held close. The moon peeked through her window, casting a silver glow on her room. "It's time for a sleepy adventure, Binky," Sage whispered, her eyes beginning to feel a little heavy.
Just then, a tiny, shimmering cloud floated in through her window! It wasn't a stormy cloud, oh no. This was a sparkly, marshmallow-soft cloud, and it smelled faintly of lavender and warm milk. On top of the cloud sat a very friendly, very plump little firefly named Flicker. Flicker's light pulsed gently, like a tiny, sleepy heartbeat.
"Hello, Sage!" buzzed Flicker, his voice a soft, tinkling sound. "Would you like to come on a sleepy cloud ride?"
Sage's eyes widened with wonder. She carefully climbed onto the fluffy cloud, Binky still tucked under her arm. The cloud felt like snuggling into a giant, soft pillow. Flicker blinked his light, and the cloud began to float upwards, gently, gently, out into the quiet night.
They drifted over the moonflower field, where the flowers shimmered like tiny stars on the ground. Sage saw sleepy little squirrels tucked into their nests and quiet bunnies munching on dewy grass. The cloud hummed a soft, lullaby tune as they floated higher.
Soon, they met a group of sleepy stars. These weren't the big, bright, wakeful stars; these were the little, twinkly stars that loved to tell bedtime stories. One star, with a gentle, winking light, began to tell a story about a little duckling who loved to float on a quiet pond. Sage snuggled deeper into the cloud, listening to the star's soft voice and watching Flicker's gentle light.
The cloud drifted past a sleepy old owl perched on a branch, his eyes half-closed. He gave a soft "whooo" that sounded like a sleepy sigh. Everything was quiet and peaceful. The air was cool and smelled of fresh, nighttime air.
Sage felt her eyelids grow heavier and heavier. The star's story blended with the cloud's soft hum. Binky felt extra soft and warm in her arms. Flicker's light pulsed slower and slower, like a sleepy beacon. The cloud began to float downwards, gently, gently, back towards Sage's window.
It settled softly beside her bed. Sage, almost asleep, gave Flicker a tiny, sleepy wave. Flicker buzzed a soft goodnight, and the sparkly cloud floated back out into the night, carrying the sleepy stars and the gentle breeze with it.
Sage snuggled under her covers, Binky still held tight. Her room was dark and quiet, just as it was before, but now it felt extra peaceful. She closed her eyes, imagining the fluffy cloud and Flicker's gentle light. And with a soft, peaceful sigh, Sage drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sleepy cloud adventures.
