A story for: Leo, Age 3
Created September 16, 2026
Once upon a time, in a cozy little burrow hidden beneath a big, friendly oak tree, lived a tiny mouse named Leo. Leo had soft, grey fur, a little pink nose, and the brightest, most curious eyes. Every night, after his mommy tucked him in, Leo would peek out his window at the big, dark world.
Tonight, the world wasn't dark at all. Tonight, the world was sparkling! "Mommy," Leo whispered, "what's that?"
Mommy Mouse chuckled softly. "That, my sweet Leo, is the Glowing Forest of Stars. It only appears on very special, sleepy nights."
Leo had never seen anything so beautiful. The trees outside his window weren't green; they were shimmering with tiny, gentle lights. Some lights were soft yellow, like a warm hug. Others were a gentle blue, like the quietest whisper. And some were a dreamy pink, like a happy blush.
"Can I go there, Mommy?" Leo asked, his little heart filled with wonder.
"Not tonight, little one," Mommy Mouse said, stroking his head. "But you can visit it in your dreams. Close your eyes, and imagine you're walking through it."
So, Leo snuggled deeper into his tiny bed. He closed his bright eyes, and just like magic, he was there! The grass beneath his paws felt like softest moss, glowing with a faint, warm light. The leaves on the trees twinkled like a million tiny fairy lanterns, swaying gently in a make-believe breeze.
Leo saw little glowing flowers that opened and closed with soft blinks. He saw a gentle stream where the water shimmered like liquid starlight. And floating above it all were big, friendly stars, humming a quiet, sleepy tune.
He watched a little firefly, its light a soft pulse, dance around a glowing mushroom. Everything was calm and peaceful. The air smelled sweet, like sleepy blossoms and warm moonlight. Leo felt so safe, so happy, and so very, very sleepy.
He lay down on a soft patch of glowing grass, feeling the gentle warmth beneath him. The star-trees whispered lullabies, and the floating stars hummed their sleepy tunes. Leo yawned a big, happy yawn. His little eyelids felt heavy, heavy, heavy.
As the soft, glowing lights of the forest surrounded him, Leo drifted deeper and deeper into a peaceful sleep, dreaming of more wonderful adventures in the beautiful, glowing forest of stars. And in his cozy burrow, little Leo Mouse slept soundly, until the morning sun peeked through his window.
