Little Kayla was in her bed. Her bed was so soft. Her big blanket was warm. It felt like a hug. Moonlight peeked inside. It made a soft, silvery light. Kayla felt safe. She felt very loved. This was her castle. It was a cozy, quiet place. Sleepy time was near. A good, warm sleepy time.

Then a tiny sound came. It was a little whisper. *Swish, swish,* it went. Kayla listened very close. What could that sound be? It sounded so soft. It sounded a bit shy. It was a gentle, quiet sound. Kayla felt curious now. Her eyes opened very wide.

Kayla slowly sat up. Her pink pajamas felt nice. Her small feet touched the rug. The rug was very soft. She took a small step. She moved very quiet. Her heart felt light. She looked to her big window. The moon shone there. It was a friendly, round moon.

The whisper came again. *Swish, swish,* it called. It was near her big window. Kayla walked to the window. She saw a little sparkle. It was a tiny, tiny star. The star had fallen down. It was on the window sill. It glimmered so softly. It looked a bit lost.

Kayla reached out her hand. She touched the little star. It felt warm and smooth. It did not feel cold at all. The star pulsed with light. It hummed a sweet song. It was a sleepy, soft tune. Kayla smiled a big smile. She picked up the star. It fit in her small hand.

The star felt like love. It felt like a soft hug. It wanted to go home. But it was very tired. It had traveled so far. It needed a warm rest. Kayla knew what to do. She held it close now. "Sleepy star," she whispered. "You can rest with me here."

Kayla walked back to her bed. Her soft blanket waited there. She tucked it in tight. She placed the star down. It rested on her pillow. Next to her soft cheek. The star glowed a soft gold. It looked very happy now. It felt very safe now. It felt very loved now.

Kayla lay down again. She pulled her blanket up high. Her head sank into the pillow. The star hummed a quiet song. It was a lullaby tune. Kayla closed her eyes. She felt very warm. She felt very safe. Kayla felt so loved. Her little adventure was done.

The castle was quiet. The moon watched from high. The star twinkled softly. Kayla drifted to sleep. Sweet dreams began. Dreams of stars and love. Sleepy time, Kayla. Sleep, my sweet girl. You are so loved. Always and always.
