A story for: Remy, Age 4
Created September 07, 2026
Once upon a time, in a house filled with soft, happy sounds, lived a little boy named Remy. Remy loved his room more than anything. It was a special place, just for him.
Tonight, as the sun began to whisper goodnight to the sky, Remy snuggled into his bed. His blanket was as soft as a cloud, and his pillow felt like a gentle hug. He looked around his room. First, he saw his friendly stuffed bear, Barnaby, sitting patiently on his nightstand. Barnaby always watched over Remy while he slept.
Next, Remy looked at the glow-in-the-dark stars stuck on his ceiling. They were starting to twinkle, just like real stars, but much closer. He imagined he was an astronaut, floating gently among them, visiting the moon and back before breakfast.
He listened to the quiet hum of his nightlight, a little turtle that projected gentle waves onto his wall. The waves moved slowly, like the ocean breathing in and out. Remy pretended he was a tiny fish, swimming in the warm, calm water, safe and sound.
Remy closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again. He saw his favorite picture, a drawing he made of a big, smiling sun and a little blue bird. He remembered drawing it with his crayons, feeling so happy as he made the colors bright and cheerful.
His room smelled faintly of clean laundry and the sweet lavender spray his mom sometimes spritzed on his pillow. It was a smell that made him feel safe and loved, like a warm cuddle.
Outside his window, the moon peeked out from behind a fluffy cloud. It was a crescent moon tonight, shaped like a tiny smile. Remy smiled back. He thought about all the other children, sleeping soundly in their beds, just like him, under the watchful eye of the moon.
Remy yawned a big, wide yawn. His eyelids felt heavy, like they were made of fluffy feathers. The gentle waves from his nightlight continued to sway on the wall, and the little stars above him glowed softly.
He pulled his blanket up to his chin, feeling the warmth spread all over him. Barnaby the bear seemed to be winking at him from the nightstand. Remy closed his eyes one last time. He imagined his room becoming even softer, even cozier, wrapping him up in a peaceful sleep. And with a happy sigh, Remy drifted off to dreamland, where stars twinkled and waves gently rocked him all through the night.
